Carbon Care Asia conducted a green bond seminar on 5th July 2018, upon the invitation by the Treasury Markets Association (TMA). The Seminar attracted about 50 members of the Association. The three speakers included Mr Water Cheung, Senior Partner and Chief Executive Officer, Asia Pacific of StormHarbour Securities (Hong Kong) Limited and Chairman of Carbon Care Asia Pte Ltd; Mr John Sayer, Director of Carbon Care Asia and Ir Albert Lai, Chief Executive Officer of Carbon Care Asia.
The seminar began with an introduction of the current green bond market in the context of Singapore and Hong Kong. The role played by green bonds in Hong Kong in the fulfilment of the “Nationally Determined Contributions” under the Paris Agreement was also discussed. The global trend, standards and dilemmas of green bonds were examined last to provide participants with food for thought.
