Hong Kong Disneyland Resorts (HKDL) went on to hold its annual signature park run for the fourth consecutive year on Nov 2 and Nov 3. “10K Weekend 2019” featured different runs to promote fun and exercise for people of all ages, sectors and people with physical disabilities. These races, including Toy Story 10K, HKDL Leadership 3K, Monster Inc. 3K and Mickey & Friends Kids Races, attracted more than 10,000 runners both local and international.
Carbon Care Asia has been providing carbon management support to this special annual event since its inception in 2016. This year, we assisted Hong Kong Disneyland Resort to study, review, assess, report and offset the GHG emissions of the official running event and offered our advice on various carbon reduction measures to be implemented on the day.
The “10K Weekend 2019” was certified as a CarbonCare® Event. CCA has arranged carbon credits from the Guazhou Solar Power Project in Gansu Province, China for HKDL to offset all related emissions and make this event carbon neutral.
