CCA is pleased to have been engaged by the Boys’& Girls’ Clubs Association of Hong Kong (BGCA) in the Green Footprint Project, a community-based carbon reduction education and practices programme financed by the Environment & Conservation Fund. As the Project’s supporting organization, CCA has provided professional advisory service and support to help it spread the message of low carbon lifestyle and actions in local communities.
An Energy Saving Competition, part of the Green Footprint Project, was successfully accomplished at end of April after attracting more than 200 entries from families and more than a dozen entries from organizations and companies. The resulted amount of carbon reductions – more than 89 tonnes — was very encouraging.
CCA Director Ms Rosanna Wong was invited to be one of the officiating guests at the award ceremony held on 19 May, 2013, and to present awards to corporate winners. To further highlight the theme of conservation and carbon reduction, various creative shows were staged at the award presentation ceremony, including the singing of a dedicated theme song, children’s dance and paintings display, as well as a recycled material fashion show by youth members of BGCA.
