Climate Finance Asia Joins the Global Capacity Building Coalition

HONG KONG, May 29, 2026 — Climate Finance Asia (CFA) is pleased to announce that it has joined the Global Capacity Building Coalition (GCBC) as a Supporting Member. In a welcome letter, GCBC Chair Mary Schapiro welcomed CFA to the coalition, which includes more than 120 members collectively spanning more than 5,000 public and private financial institutions, 160 financial centres and exchanges, and millions of finance professionals worldwide.

Launched to strengthen the collaboration, accessibility and quality of climate finance capacity building, the GCBC brings together leading organizations to help unlock capital and support the transition to resilient, sustainable economies, with a focus on emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs). Its Digital Platform serves as a global hub for capacity building resources, case studies and live learning opportunities.

CFA joins the GCBC as a sustainability and sustainable finance consultancy with an active footprint across Asia-Pacific and other emerging markets. CFA’s work focuses on translating climate finance concepts into practical policies, tools, and learning programmes for financial institutions, corporates, regulators, and international organizations.

Through its membership, CFA looks forward to contributing its expertise in areas including Just Transition, coal phase-out and transition finance, carbon markets and pricing, and border carbon adjustment. This includes sharing practical resources such as CFA’s Facility-level Just Transition Guidelines for Banks, its study on the Economic and Financial Drivers of Coal-fired Power Plant Retirement in Asia, and collaborative work with the World Economic Forum (WEF) on border carbon adjustments and climate competitiveness.

CFA also looks forward to supporting the GCBC by contributing learning resources to the coalition’s digital platform, participating in member events, and strengthening climate finance capability building through its networks in Asia and beyond.

Mr. Chanyau Chong, MBE, Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of Climate Finance Asia, said:
“CFA is a mission driven consultancy. In face with the intensifying climate crisis, it is important to work with a coalition like GCBC to share knowledge, capacity building, and the belief that  a sustainable future is achievable.”
