CCA Board Chairman Mr Chong Chan Yau was among the nine outstanding individuals who were conferred Honorary University Fellowships by the Hong Kong University on Oct 4, 2012, in recognition of his contributions to the University and the community at large.“I am pleased to have been recognized for my contribution to the promotion of the environmental cause, organizing and leading HKU student delegations to the UN conferences on climate change held in Bali, 2007 and in Copenhagen, 2009,” said Mr Chong Chan Yau. He is one of the founding directors and chairman of Carbon Care Asia, a professional social business set up in 2008 to provide carbon management and sustainability services to various sectors and trades in the community.
Created in 1995, the Honorary University Fellowship has been an important tradition for HKU to thank and salute “those who have shown, in thought, and word, and deed, how deeply they appreciate the value of education, and how important the welfare of society is to them”, according to HKU Vice-Chancellor Professor Lap-Chee Tsui.
Cheers and congratulations to our Chairman Chong Chan Yau!
