InterContinental Hong Kong Partners with Carbon Care Asia to offe
Meeting & Event Clients with Options for CarbonCare Events
InterContinental Hong Kong is the first hotel in Hong Kong and currently all of Asia to offer CarbonCare Event solutions to its meeting and event customers, in partnership with Carbon Care Asia. Upon request, Carbon Care Asia can provide the hotel’s meeting and event clients with a variety of carbon care solutions and packages — including a simple event assessment, carbon measurement, suggestions for carbon reduction, plus options of carbon off-set, along with official verification options.
Currently the only Green Globe Silver Certified hotel in Hong Kong, InterContinental Hong Kong is demonstrating its commitment to sustainability by offering these carbon neutral services, in response to the global call for action to build a new low carbon economy to mitigate climate change.
The launch of this new carbon care service is made in the wake of the UN Climate Conference with world leaders being held in Copenhagen from December 7-18, 2009. In the months to come, InterContinental Hong Kong hopes to become one of the leading venues of carbon neutral meetings and events.

More and more, they are focusing on selecting business partners, including hotels, which share the same concern for responsible business and commitment to the environment. Through our alliance with Carbon Care Asia, we can now give our clients the option of assessing and offsetting the carbon footprint of their events with an option of buying carbon credits.”
